Manokwari, September 4, 2025 — Universitas Caritas Indonesia (UNCRI) Manokwari convened a distinguished public lecture entitled “Integrating Law, Economics, and Science & Technology for a Competitive Indonesia,” delivered by Prof. Dr. Ir. Roni Bawole, M.Si. The session brought together incoming students from the Faculties of Law, Economics and Business, and Science and Technology, underscoring the university’s commitment to shaping a holistic academic outlook from the very beginning of their studies.
Prof. Roni underscored the urgency of cross-disciplinary collaboration in addressing the complex challenges confronting the nation. He argued that the convergence of law, economics, and science and technology constitutes a critical foundation for sustainable competitiveness, with each discipline complementing the others in forging systems that are just, inclusive, and problem-solving in orientation.
Beyond its immediate academic purpose, the lecture served as an initiation into a broader intellectual paradigm: that national progress is sustained not solely through specialization, but equally through the capacity to connect, integrate, and synergize diverse domains of knowledge. This message, instilled at the outset of the students’ academic journey, reflects UNCRI’s vision of education as both integrative and future-oriented.
For UNCRI Manokwari, the event was not merely an academic exercise but also a strategic affirmation of values required to thrive in an era of rapid transformation. The transdisciplinary approach championed in the lecture resonates with the university’s trajectory of cultivating collaboration and relevance as the bedrock of higher education.
By embedding this ethos, UNCRI reasserts its mission to nurture graduates who excel in their fields while remaining critically attuned to broader, cross-disciplinary perspectives in engaging with national and global issues. Guided by the spirit of “Weaving the Synergy of Knowledge for the Nation,” the university is steadily building a progressive, adaptive, and contributive academic ecosystem in service of Indonesia’s advancement.
