A Fantasy Short Story by Leni Marlina

On a night that never repeats itself, Arka awoke amidst a forest of words, where the trees radiated gentle light and leaves whispered like letters dancing on the wind. This was no ordinary world—it was the Garden of Literature, a realm where words breathed, prayers hatched from ink, and every step tested the measure of one’s heart.

Arka tread softly along a river of light, its ripples shimmering like liquid ink. Beside him, Lira, his closest friend and fellow writer, watched with luminous eyes.
“Do you feel it too?” she asked. Arka nodded, sensing the echoes of words drifting through the air:
“Courage is not about winning, but choosing with the heart.”

They entered the Corridor of Words, a long passageway lined with glowing letters. Words swirled around them, challenging them to choose the path of righteousness, not the path of ease. Each step resonated with moral consequence; their own doubts appeared as shadows flickering at the edge of vision.

“Are we truly ready for this?” Arka asked. Lira smiled, serene and unwavering.
“We are never fully ready. Courage is not born of readiness—it is born of action in the presence of fear.”

Within the corridor, the garden’s magical inhabitants awaited. Letter Blossoms unfolded radiant petals that formed words:
“Honesty is both sword and shield.”
Light Butterflies spiraled around them, weaving threads of calm through the air. Tiny Dragonfish glided along the luminous river, spinning vortices that demanded focus and presence.

Shadows of themselves emerged, whispering questions of intent and bravery:
“Are you worthy of writing the true words?”

Arka exchanged a glance with Lira, understanding passing silently.
“We can only choose truth,” he said.

Step by step, they navigated waves of doubt and moral symbolism. The Ancient Tree lowered its luminous branches like lashes of light, testing patience and courage. The Grass of Words launched glowing filaments to challenge their concentration. But the trials were not to destroy—they were to sharpen hearts, like blades honed against stone.

Finally, they reached the Lake of Light, its mirrored surface revealing the future, words born from the heart, and reflections of moral choices. Arka touched the water, and words etched themselves, forming a bridge of radiant light. Lira added her hand to a Letter Blossom, exploding its petals into words:
“Every step is a prayer. Every word is a mirror of the heart. The world awaits your honesty and courage.”

Night deepened, and the garden prepared for its final symbolic trial. Shadows of fear surged, invoking their deepest anxieties. Yet the garden’s flora and fauna rallied. Inkbirds wrote encouraging sentences in the air, quieting trepidation. Light Butterflies formed protective spirals, and the Grass of Words held back the waves of doubt, guiding Arka and Lira toward clarity.

With a step imbued with courage, they declared their intent:
“We choose courage, honesty, and humanity!”
Arka added, “Our words are prayers, and these prayers are for the world.”

The shadows dissolved. Gentle light suffused the garden, the river rippled peacefully, and the Ancient Tree bowed, forming a golden gateway. Letter Blossoms bloomed fully, crafting poetry in the air:
“Courage and honesty are the legacy awaited by the children of the world. The world you touch with your heart will shine.”

Yet the garden remained eternal and mysterious. Other corridors awaited, new words awaited awakening, and the next moral shadow would emerge at any moment. Arka and Lira smiled, aware that their journey was far from complete. The light they carried was enough to illuminate the next steps.

In the distance, Light Butterflies traced words in the sky:
“Every human being carries the innate potential to write. Every word born from the heart is a prayer, becoming a light for dark corridors.”

Arka looked at Lira.
“This is not the end… but the beginning of a larger journey, in both the real world and the world of words.”

Lira grasped his hand, the glowing orb of a Letter Blossom warming their palms.
“And this garden will always wait, for anyone ready to hear the echoes of the heart, to write with courage, and to spread humanity.”

They stepped away from the Lake of Light. Behind them, the corridors of the Garden shimmered, bidding farewell and promising to witness courage.

The sky of the Garden opened wide; star-like letters danced slowly, forming a final message:
“Literature will hold the sincere words that walk the path of humanity.”

And in the real world, the words they wrote, the prayers sent through poems and stories, sparked light in other hearts—awakening courage, honesty, and hope.

Arka and Lira walked onward, aware that their moral, symbolic, and human journey would continue—whenever words were written, whenever hearts were touched, and whenever the corridors of the Garden of Literature awaited exploration.
