Manokwari, October 15, 2025 – The Men’s Basketball Team of Caritas Indonesia University (UNCRI) has successfully claimed the championship title at the 2025 Rector Cup Basketball Tournament hosted by the University of Papua (UNIPA), after defeating the formidable team from UNIPA’s Faculty of Forestry with a final score of 73–50.
The final match, held at the UNIPA Sport Center Basketball Court, was an intense contest filled with passion, determination, and sportsmanship.
From the very beginning, both teams displayed aggressive play and gave their best performances. However, through solid teamwork, well-executed strategies, and outstanding individual performances, the UNCRI team managed to dominate the game and secure a decisive victory in the championship round.
The energy from the UNCRI supporters elevated the atmosphere even further. Carrying banners that read “Our campus may be small, but our name must be great!”, the fans embodied the spirit of pride and perseverance that defines the university community.
The Rector of Caritas Indonesia University, Prof. Dr. Roberth Kurniawan Ruslak Hammar, S.H., M.Hum., M.M., CLA., expressed his heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to the UNCRI basketball team for their remarkable achievement.
