Langkah di Mall Baru

Yusuf Achmad

Mall colors change, I boast my new clothes,
Dark and old, now just memories.
My little runs, now replaced by wheels,
Tiny feet spinning, my steps tread the past.

These spaces now inhabited by meat,
Indian vegetables and American calories.
My world is no longer this world,
My steps differ, my taste unique, not hypnotized.

Among the empty corridors of the night, I ponder,
Hollow spaces, phone screens gleam.
Saturday night, floors shining under the lights,
Empty, only spaces colored with emptiness.

Female hawkers appear on the screen,
Fashion and snacks in hand, just press the button.
The glitter of food, the smell of clothes,
All within reach, amid the deafening silence of the night.
