Manokwari, October 14, 2025 — Dr. Suriel Samuel Mofu, S.Pd., M.Ed., TEFL., M.Phil., Head of the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) Region XIV Papua, attended the 4th Graduation Ceremony of Sekolah Tinggi Manajemen dan Informatika (STIMIK) Kreatindo Manokwari, held in conjunction with the institution’s 11th Anniversary on Tuesday, October 14. The event was held in a warm atmosphere and attended by the Rector of Universitas Caritas Indonesia (UNCRI), Prof. Dr. Roberth Kurniawan Ruslak Hammar, S.H., M.Hum., M.M., CLA.
A total of 36 graduates were officially conferred their degrees. Dr. Nataniel D. Mandacan, M.Si., Chair of STIMIK Kreatindo, explained that the number of graduates this year was modest, as the institution maintains high academic standards and prioritizes the integrity of its graduates. He emphasized that the true measure of higher education success lies not in numbers, but in producing graduates with integrity, character, and the ability to compete in the workforce.
In his speech, Dr. Suriel Mofu highlighted that the graduation ceremony reflected the health and quality of the institution, demonstrating its ability to carry out academic processes effectively and produce graduates ready to contribute to society.
He also underlined that STIMIK Kreatindo serves as a home for Papuan students, which must be nurtured with quality, compassionate, and human-centered education.
“This is a home for Papuan children, and they must be well-served,” he affirmed.
During the ceremony, Dr. Mofu congratulated STIMIK Kreatindo for successfully holding the graduation and for its ongoing commitment to improving higher education in Papua. He noted that 171 STIMIK Kreatindo students had received KIP Kuliah scholarships, part of the government’s commitment to expanding higher education access for Papuan youth.
Dr. Mofu pledged to continue advocating for an increase in scholarship recipients so that the program can reach even more students throughout Papua. He also encouraged local governments to follow this example by implementing similar educational support programs to secure the future of young Papuans.
Addressing the graduates directly, Dr. Mofu reminded them that attention is a precious gift: by giving attention, one can nurture and strengthen others. He also stressed the importance of using technology wisely, warning against wasting time on unproductive activities.
“Use technology wisely, and do not let it consume your time, especially gadgets or phones. Alongside knowledge, draw closer to God, for therein lies wisdom and life’s direction,” he advised.
He added that resilience in the face of hardship reflects spiritual intelligence. Therefore, after graduation, he encouraged students not to rush into celebrations, but to first seek closeness to God and pray:
“Lord, make me as You will.”
Through sincere prayer, he explained, one can understand God’s intentions and find the true meaning of life’s journey.
This meaningful message concluded the 4th Graduation Ceremony and the 11th Anniversary of STIMIK Kreatindo Manokwari — a moment that reinforced the spirit of service and dedication to the youth of Papua.
