The Chairman of Satupena a group of Indonesian writers and authors, Mr. Denny JA posting the news in the WatchUp group stated that he won the Award. Only few weeks from the proposed candidates time then. As for the Literary Nobel Prize takes 12 months time. It started in November after the anouncement of the Prize Winner in October. You get to register and process of selection from a long-list which take about eight months. You had the short list in July. You have to read through the candidates works to be able to decide who win the prize and being anounced in October each year.
But for Brics Prize rather astonishing. It takes only few weeks. Denny received two letters confirming this. One is to Uni Sastri Bakrie as Reps of Brics in Indonesia and the second goes directly to him.
One thing for sure is as the topic puts it Literary Innovation Meaning not on any specific work of Denny he has been doing but more on the innovation side of the Literaty Genre Essay Poetry
I am an author of a few novels which leads me to rather have a different view on this different genres. In Eassy Poetry as I understand it, you get stuck in with the facts, time, people and place which will leads you to limited immagination by it nature indeed. While in contras, in novel you have the free world in your head. You are free to do anything to your characters as the story flows. Your immagination is free to go anywhere the story leads to.
But this choise of genres is subjective to each author decision which genre to choose to put his work on. Your mind is not limiting your immagination to anything which to me is the core of Free Mind in a Free World
To be honest, eventhough most of Literary Communities in Indonesia to some extend not go inline with Denny anyhow, he shows consistency to fight for what he believe in him – as a innovator for ESSAY POETRY – in Literary
To me to be honest once I questioned him as a innovator in Essay Poetry as I undestand it Alexander Pope is the one invent the genre [ Why is Alexander Pope has to be Burried Twice ? My other writing ]. It was in a Satupena group zoom meeting. But then Uni Sastrie Bakrie puts it, ” Everyone knows to fry chiecken in the past. But why is Colonel.Sanders well known for his Centucky Fries Chicken ? He was the one tiresly promote the new invention of his new taste of fried chicken” To me, I think it is fair enough Uni
And today Denny pick up the best fruit from the tree he once planted. And he never stop for what he pioneered he encourages those who are interested to write on a genre he once innovates essay poetry
